This 40 year-old fashion house, named after a racehorse, really packed a punch with their latest runway collection. The brand is taking great strides to reinvent itself, and it definitely shows. Compared to its last year’s collection, which definitely had its share of beautiful clothing, this year’s is runway show was more vibrant, colorful and bright. Escada’s target demographic was always the “professional woman,” and this year, with the help of new design director Niall Sloan the models reflected the ever changing corporate climate, with more faces of color. The natural hairstyle of choice (styled by Guido Palau) was a twist out or bantu knot out, on varying lengths of ethnic hair. The makeup, by Pat Macgrath, was understated and natural, with an occasional red lip.
