“The Balm” All Natural Lip Balm by Naokeidoe Creations

As the weather cools down, I find that my lips need moisture as well as protection from the cool winds to prevent chapping. The lip balm really is “the balm.com” and I get beside myself when I can’t find it! I have the Really Ripe Raspberry and Key Lime Pie scented ones, and they both smell divine. I really enjoy this product because it’s all natural, and gets the job done. My lips stay soft all day long and I don’t find myself re-applying it several times throughout the day as I do with some other lip balms. Fortunately for me, Naokeidoe Creations is based in Richmond, VA which is not far from where I live, and a few of their products are even available in specialty boutiques in my area. I usually pick up a few things whenever she is vending at any of the local fairs or expos, but you can order this lip balm along with a ton of other awesome hair and skin care products they have available. SN: Her handmade soaps are mini works of art. Check them out at http://naokeidoecreations.com. Tell them Jonna sent you :o)

For your Hair

Butter Love by Karen’s Body Beautiful

Sealing in moisture is a key to healthy hair, especially in the cooler, windy months when hair can dry out quickly. Butter Love is my absolute favorite product for sealing in moisture. The main ingredients are shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, jojoba butter, aloe butter, grapefruit seed oil. This butter is jam packed with oils and butters that work great on my thick, kinky and coily hair to condition, soften, and add sheen to my hair (and I use it on my skin too). I apply the Karen’s Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia leave-in conditioner first, and then apply the Butter Love as my sealer. Butter Love also works great as a styling aid for twist-outs, braid-outs and Bantu knot-out styles. I usually catch Karen’s Body Beautiful at natural hair expos and events I attend because that eliminates shipping costs and she offers a great buy 2 get 1 free show sale, but you can order her products online at www.karensbodybeautiful.com.

For Your Body

Organic Raw Shea Butter Lotion by Shea Moisture

This lotion is a staple in my house. My husband and I both enjoy using this lotion by Shea Moisture; we affectionately call it The Ash Buster. Aside from this product being all natural, the thick and creamy consistency makes it a go to for colder weather. This product will stand up to the cool air and keep skin hydrated all day long. As it gets colder, I often will ‘lotion up’ my feet at night and put on my foot therapy moisturizing socks that I purchased from my local Dollar Tree store from $1. When I wake up, my feet are extremely soft and this really helps to prevent rough, callused feet. I recently loaded up on Shea Moisture lotions and soaps, which are equally impressive, at a recent natural hair expo – they offer a great 3 for $25 show sale. But if you can’t wait for them to be vending in your area, their products are readily available at Walmart, Target, CVS & Walgreens, so they are easy to find and at a reasonable price point.
