What Self Love Means To Me
Self- love is loving every flaw you have without apology. Too many times I have looked at my flaws and cringed. Now, I look at my flaws and celebrate them. The ones I want to work on, I work to improve them. The ones I am happy with, I treasure. When you love yourself, no one can take that from you. It is your covenant with your heart. It is a promise that will guide your emotions, thoughts and decisions for a lifetime.

How I Celebrate My Beauty
I celebrate my beauty by reminding myself of the unique qualities I possess, my stunning features and the power of my smile. For years, I struggled with my physical appearance and doubted that I was even beautiful. I was the smartest girl in the class, I could sing, I wore custom dresses and Italian leather shoes at the age of 5 but still felt out of place and not beautiful. I wasn’t as slim as the other girls and was full of melanin. I felt like people ignored me because I was what I thought at the time was ” different”. With age and wisdom, I have finally figured it out. It is all about the inside radiating on the outside. The great things you have to offer the world and others it your true beauty. Knowing your worth is the beginning of self confidence.

Now, all of the things that made me insecure, are my signature. My round face, bright smile and melanin all have made me into the woman I am today. I stand out from the crowd not only because of how I look but because of how I think, how I act, and how I spread my light to others.

My Advice On Dealing With Haters
Haters are like employees that work for your company for no money. They aren’t interns they are just literally employees who get no pay! Ha! They serve no purpose in my life beyond inspiring me to do more and be more. My life used to be filled with people who literally pretended to support me but didn’t. Once they identified themselves by showing me who they were, I moved on. My character is the best thing I have in life. So I would never do anything to jeopardize my reputation I do my best to keep negative people, feelings and attitudes outside of my space and focusing on all the beauty and blessings in my life. In one word…ignore.

My Top 3 Self Care Practices

Each night before bed, I write in my journal. This helps me recap the day and prep for the next day. I like writing my thoughts down because It helps me clear my head. I count my blessings and all I want to achieve in my life and for the following day.

I give myself a facial once a week. It is great going to the spa. It is often very relaxing but when you do it for yourself, you are literally taking care of yourself, by yourself, for yourself. It a soothing physical and mental therapy that makes my body will my mind, ” I care about you”. I am in love with clay masks and treat myself to one each week.

I ensure that my whole life is organized. When you leave your life to go in disarray, you leave your mind open to confusion, clutter and potentially pain. After reading the book Enough Already by Peter Walsh I was hooked on the concept of freeing myself of the things I didn’t need. I remove the mental, physical and emotional clutter from my mind and from my life. I do this by keeping lists of tasks, file documents, keeping my home showroom ready and add beautiful touches to my surroundings like a vase of peonies.

What Self Love Mean To Me
It means being active and present in your own care and healing. Self love is a revolutionary act in a world set to make use misuse and judge ourselves harshly.

How I Celebrate My Beauty
I celebrate my own beauty by avoiding the trap of comparisons. I also make sure that what I consume and put on my body supports and highlights me instead of hurting or hiding who I am.

My Advice On Dealing With Haters
I don’t even know if I have haters. Lol. I like the saying, “not my monkeys, not my circus” meaning I mind my own business. I have too much to work on to worry about who is mad or hating.

My Top 3 Self Care Practices

Create personal rituals that support your own awareness, like a personal tea time, journaling, reading or meditating.

Nourish yourself. Let everything you consume be to your benefit with the understanding that nourishment extends beyond food and drink to what you listen to, who you surround yourself with and what you choose to engage in.

Move mindfully and often. Find ways to move that fit your life, ability and goals. Dance with your children and love. Work movement into your down time and time with friends. Make it a priority.

Who is Ingrid Diaz?
I’m a mother of 3 beautiful boys who are 15, 11 and 5 years old and I work in the medical field assisting nurses and doctors in making sure our members are receiving proper care and services. I’m a rising entrepreneur of the website and YouTube channel known as Curlfident. I focus on healthy DIY treatments that are great for the health of your hair. I was inspired by the many bloggers I watch to start my own business sharing my passion for natural hair and wellness. I’m currently working on my own product line, I’m writing a book and I have several other projects to share very soon.

What Self Love Means To Me
Self love is about truly “loving yourself” in the skin you’re in, in the hair you have, in the life you have, in the job you have, in the accent you have, in what and who you are no matter what your circumstances are when you “Self love” things don’t seem as bad as they are. Self love is looking at myself as a living vessel and knowing that I was created so beautiful and powerful through Gods eyes and not created to put myself down but instead love myself and life as he created not just me but every living being on the planet to be.

It sounds cliche but it really is as simple as constantly saying ” I love you” to yourself and reminding yourself on how amazing it is to be given the opportunity to live life another day to accomplish whatever it is you want out of life.

Self love is about loving the idea of you being a part of life in this world and having the ability to make a difference whether it’s raising a family, helping the helpless and being their hands, feet, eyes etc.

How I Celebrate My Beauty
I celebrate my beauty by sharing it with others because beauty is not just my outer appearance it’s my soul, energy and aura. I always make sure I compliment women, men, kids or animals it just feels amazing to compliment and make someone else feel good too and knowing you have a part in enhancing their day. I also enjoy the body I’m in and exploring different looks that I find appealing from simple to bold looks and just enjoying my skin, my body, my culture, just enjoying myself in this life.

My Advice On Dealing With Haters
By knowing that the hate or jealousy towards me has nothing to do with me and everything to do with them. I don’t take anything anyone says about me personal because haters often feel that you have something that either belongs to them, should be their’s or you’re just not good enough for it and at the end of the day it’s just an opinion that is not true or my problem. I just take the bad with the good comments and turn it all into constructive criticism reminding myself that they’re hating and jealous of me because I’m doing something well.

Look at it this way, criticism and negativity from other people are like a wall. And if you focus on it, then you’ll run right into it. You’ll get blocked by negative emotions, anger, and self-doubt. Your mind will go where your attention is focused so thinking like this keeps my outlook on the haters/shade positive no matter what they say and in return I protect my feelings, enhance my confidence and not create self doubt. Most importantly, I weed out anyone who is not supportive of me.

My Top 3 Self Care Practices
Spend quality time with loved ones with no media, phones, iPads etc. Just plain old school fun without sharing every special moment with everyone on media or splitting my attention with my family and texting someone. Just being 100% present.

Everyday I improve my health by eating cleaner, exercising at my own pace and drinking lots of water.

Giving myself minimum of 15 or 30 minutes of quiet time every single day to whine down my mind, body and soul and connect to my inner peace. This is also “Self love”.
